Join us for our annual Coffeehouse Production, featuring six comedic one-act plays and an extended intermission with luscious desserts available for purchase.

Durang/Durang is a collection of six one-act plays by renowned American playwright, Christopher Durang.  The evening begins with Mrs. Sorken, an introduction to the history and origin of theater, given by the title character who has misplaced her notes.  Next comes two theater satires: For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls (a parody of The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams) and A Stye of the Eye, a play exposing the overuse of symbolism in American theater.  The second half begins with Nina in the Morning, providing a glimpse into the life of an extremely wealthy and narcissistic woman. In Wanda’s Visit, a married couple recount the reintroduction of an eccentric former girlfriend.  The final play, Business Lunch at the Russian Tea Room, tells the story of a playwright being persuaded to adapt to Hollywood.

The Spotlights’ Coffeehouse Show includes a complimentary beverage bar (non-alcoholic) before the show and during an extended intermission, when gourmet desserts are available for purchase.
