Auditions will be held by appointment on Sunday, August 27 from 7:00 PM – 10:00PM and Tuesday, August 29 from 7:00PM – 10:00PM. Auditioners should sign up for an audition slot here.  Invited callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Saturday, September 2.    Rehearsals will begin the week of September 18.  The show runs November 3 – 18.   The show will be directed by Daniel Hunsicker, music directed by Ryan Bergeron, and choreographed by Kayla Arrington.  Performers of all ages and ethnicities are invited to audition.

This show requires actors of all ages.  All roles available. No Equity contracts available for this production. 

Auditioners are asked to prepare two(2) contrasting selections of music approximately one-minute in length. At least one selection should be in the style of the show. Bring sheet music in the correct keys, hole-punched in a three-ring binder.  Selections from the show are acceptable. There will also be some cold readings of selected script passages.  Please bring a list of conflicts from September 18 – November 18.

Show Synopsis:

Teen heartthrob Conrad Birdie has been drafted, so he chooses All-American girl Kim MacAfee for a very public farewell kiss. Featuring a tuneful high-energy score, plenty of great parts for teens, and a hilarious script, this loving send-up of the 1950s, small-town America, teenagers, and rock & roll continues to thrill audiences around the world.

All Roles Available:

Conrad Birdie: A handsome, charismatic rock star.

Albert Peterson: Conrad’s nervous and overworked manager.

Rosie Alvarez: Albert’s girlfriend and secretary. Seeking an actress of Latinx descent.

Kim MacAfee: A sweet and innocent teenager from Sweet Apple, Ohio.

Mr. Harry MacAfee: Kim’s overprotective father.

Mrs. Mae Peterson: Albert’s overbearing and disapproving mother.

Ursula Merkle: Kim’s best friend, a gossip-loving teenager.

Hugo Peabody: Kim’s boyfriend, a jealous teenager.

Randolph MacAfee: Kim’s younger brother, around 10 years old.

Gloria Rasputin: A tap dancing “secretary”.  Mae’s choice to replace Rosie.  

Harvey Johnson: A nerdy teenager from Sweet Apple, Ohio.

Mayor: The mayor of Sweet Apple, Ohio. Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.

Mayor’s Wife: The mayor’s wife. Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.

Mrs. Merkle: Mother of Ursula. Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.  

Mr. Johnson: Father of Harvey. Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.

Maude: Proprietor/bartender of “Maude’s Roadside Retreat”.  Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.

Deborah Sue: A teenage girl from Sweet Apple, Ohio. Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.

Margie: A teenage girl from Sweet Apple, Ohio. Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.  

Alice: A teenage girl from Sweet Apple, Ohio. Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.

Nancy: A teenage girl from Sweet Apple, Ohio. Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.

Penelope: A teenage girl from Sweet Apple, Ohio. Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.

Helen: A teenage girl from Sweet Apple, Ohio. Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.

Freddie: A teenage boy from Sweet Apple, Ohio. Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.

Karl: A teenage boy from Sweet Apple, Ohio. Actor will play other roles in the ensemble.

The Ensemble: A group of singers and dancers who play various roles in the show, such as fans, reporters, and townspeople, various voice roles.
